Art Brut - Wham! Bang! Pow! Let's Rock Out!
The joyous return of Art Brut. Their first album in seven years is due out in autumn and this is the first track taken from it.

The Shakers - Get Me Down
Taking the DIY ethic to extremes, this is the first track the South Londoners have done entirely on their own - recording, producing and releasing.

The Nightingales - Chaff
A track taken from the forthcoming album Perish The Thought.

Fat Earthers - Life's Political
This dates back from January. They're from the Isle of Wight and this is off their self-titled EP.

The Jjohns - Sewn
The first track for their new label, Modern Sky.

From Cardiff, this came out on Friday as part of Libertino Records' singles club.

Marbled Eye - New Crease
These are from Oakland in California and this is off the EP Promo Tape 2018 that came out in April.

Nervous Twitch - You Promised Me The World
Leeds punk trio. Flippin' love 'em. This is the second single off the LP I Won't Hide.

Mokri - Labyrinth
The third single taken from the LP Total Love.

Föllakzoid - Feuerzeug
And to finish, 9 minutes of Chilean krautrock off the 2015 album III.

Flies On You - Can You Smell That Burning Noise
But we start on a sad note. I bloody love Flies On You, so it was with tremendous sadness that I read of the death of Andrew Watkins at the age of 50. Along with Doug Aikman, they made some ruddy marvellous music, so by way of tribute here's a track off their second album, etcetera.

Stella Diana - Lurine Rae
Bit of shoegaze from Napoli now from the upcoming sixth studio LP, 57. DIY stuff, this is their second English-language LP.

Cocoa Futures - Sink In The Water
Recorded in the old Granada TV studios in Manchester, Scotsman Greg Sanderson and his band follow up their acclaimed Blue EP with this cracking new single.

The Room In The Wood - Magical Thinking
The title track of the new EP from the Liverpool outfit, out on the 20th.

Look At You Now
Saw these at Northern Quarter on Saturday and they're chuffing great. Nothing beyond two and a half minutes ("that's prog for us" says lead singer and bassist Erin) for proper punk throwback vibes. I Won't Hide came out late last year on Odd Box. It's terrific. Go buy it.

Wedding - Hands In The Till
From Manchester via Berlin, Wedding are newly signed to Art Is Hard records and this is their first release for them.

Mollusc - Anxiety
So much good stuff coming out of Australia at the moment, and here's another brace. First, a duo from Melbourne with a track from their self-titled debut EP.

A reworking of an old Fugs track to reflect the modern threat to your privacy and democracy, the NSA. This came out as a 7" last month.

Giuseppe Leonardi - Jack Of All Trades

The title track of the Balearic styled EP from the young Viennese producer.

The Micronaut - Earlylate

Stefan Streck of Leipzig is The Micronaut and this is off the brilliant EP Contrast. Came out in February.

The difficult second album, says the cliche. Well this is great for starters from Outfit's second. Slowness is the title and it's out next month. There just isn't anything else that sounds like this.

It's hard to keep up with Billy Childish, in terms of volume of recording - he's a discography as long as your arm - collaborators - his latest is with the Spartan Dreggs - and spellings of Childish. This is off 2013's Die Hinterstoisser Traverse. Before that, from 1968, a UK number 1 and off the album Israelites. Well, one of two albums called Israelites.

Dommengang - Everybody's Boogie
Song of the week, intro of the year. The title track to their debut album which is out now.

Houndstooth - Bliss Boat
The lead track from the album No News From Home which came out in March.

Quailbones - Sunny Side Repulsion
From Kentucky and off a compilation from Sad Sack Records.

The title track - few of those this week - from their new album. Well, it's been out a while, but this is the new single.

I'm not even trying to pronounce this. Either way, they're from Bristol and this is off Seducted which came out in December.

From Mali, a tip from a friend who, in discussing this year's Glastonbury festival, said they were the best thing he saw last year. This is from the 2007 album Aman Iman - Water Is Life to you.

Moonlandingz - Psyche Ersatz
Another track from the Moonlandingz EP, a companion piece the Eccentronic Research Council's new album Johnny Rocket, Narcissist and Music Machine... I'm Your Biggest Fan. In it, Maxine Peake plays an obsessed fan of the lead singer of a band called Moonlandingz, and that band become real when the ERC and the Fat White Family - on whose label the album is released on - combine. Got that? Good.

Corner Control - Integer
